      Description

Since the latest Chrome update (version 54.0.2840.59) we have problems to save products in the BO (albeit it works sometimes). We tested the issue on several versions and we found the the issue happens in Chrome for Windows. No errors appears in the console, and we have the following warning that in our opinion is nto related to the issue:

jquery-1.11.0.min.js:4 Synchronous XMLHttpRequest on the main thread is deprecated because of its detrimental effects to the end user's experience. For more help, check https://xhr.spec.whatwg.org/.send

Manual update to 1.6.1.9 is failing because of an error 32 (nothing to update) : ../install/upgrade/sql/1.6.1.9.sql (and also 1.6.1.8.sql) is missing in ../install/upgrade/sql/. I had to comment lines from 206 to 210 in upgrade.php. Please forgive me for not creating a dedicated bug report, but since 1.6.1.9 is directly related to this bug report... There is also a small and unrelated mistake on line 180 ("/install/upgrade/sql" instead of "/install/sql/upgrade").

1.6.0.14 Applied all changes, getting error 500 on Products page, and Categories are gone as well on all Products.
But the save button is indeed fixed. What's the workaround in this? I noticed that there are some differences in Tree Associated Categories file between my version and the one provided in github changes.

          Thanks in advance

As far as I can see, there is only one solution. Get a Gchrome old version, like 53.0 and turn off automatic updates. The problem hasnt been solved even on latest 56.0 version. still cant save anything.

What I noticed was clicking on text (save and stay | stay) does work, just don't click on the icon.
          Works with chrome 54 - 58
