Description
Hello,
we think it would be a smart move to include the ability to set a custom creation date for new products, straight form the BO. Or at least use the first activation date as creation date.
Why?
If you prepare a bunch of products that you want to add the same day, you might create these items in the BO but keep them deactivated until all the descriptions are ready on all items. So these items might go online for the first time much later than they were originally created in the BO.
So if you have set your new items setting to 10 days, and are busy for a whole week with descriptions and finishing your product before you activate it, it will only show up in the new items for three days!
You can circumvent this by editing your DB in MySQL, but that is cumbersome compared to the ability to modify the creation date straight from the BO.
Or at least change it so that the first activation of the product sets the creation date - that would give PS users the ability to prepare new products "offline" when they have free time resources, and later activate them when needed.
If you start preparing 100 new items today that you plan on selling for Xmas, they will no longer show as "new" by the time Xmas shopping begins.
Regards,
Daniel
