Description

When we have 8 products: 4 for $10/each and 4 for $20/each
One product for $20 with "specific_price" $5 ($20 - sale $15). Settings: "Product on page" is 2 then we have 4 pages and sorting is "from lowest".
Product with price $5 should be first on first page but now that product is on page 3 and first 4 products for $10 are on first 2 pages.
Because presta read normal price and should use "specific_price" if is definied.
"Specific_price" is sorted only on page which we see and normal price is sorted on whole shop.

Hi,

Thanks for this report.

Order by price, use the field price and dont care about the real price. This working is not correct, but for performance and simplicity reason it's not possible to change this working now.

I move this report from bug to improvement section.

I doubt that it should be moved to improvement section. Because if somone is basing on sales then comparison them with normal prices is wrong and client is getting wrong result. If there are 2-3 prices then it's ok. But what if someone has 100 of them?

Hi,

I understood this problem is not minor. But it's not a bug but I think the way Prestashop work from the beginning. To change, and use the real/visible price, it's a lot of work and a lot of new code. This need more verification than a bigfix to be sure there is no problem with it.

An improvement don't mean the problem will never be done, or in a long time., but as soon as we can.
