Group access is enabled for all possible groups.

I am adding root category for a concrete shop, but it goes directly to root and can be seen only when you go to All shops.

Tried to add a brand new shop with new root as default - no change, still ignores it and shows the original root.

I'm having the same issue. I installed the prestashop thru simple scripts. Several reinstals yet couldn't find a way to solve the issue.

        WHAT I TRIED TO ACHIEVE
To add Tabs next to <HOME> to Front-end navigation bar.
        <Home> <rootCat1>

        -homeSub1 -cat1Sub1
        -homeSub2 -cat1Sub2
        -homeSub3 -cat1Sub3

WHAT I DID - here is the procedure i followed.
Categories -> New Category -> Create a new Root Category with is this root category option enabled -> save.

        WHAT I GET -
No root category <tab> displayed in front-office except <Home> in the navigation bar. But the newly created root category is listed under home category as a sub category of <HOME>.
But ROOT CATEGORY option is enable in category creation.
