This user can't get over step 3, he's running Windows 2008 + IIS and has a strong technical background.

Description Lots of users are struggling to get beyond step 3 of their installation. Some have error messages, but others just have the installation stall with no warning or error.

We seem to only be offering workarounds, why have we not fixed this across the board?

I just answered on the forum post to get the FTP access and try to fix the error asap.

I sent the user a PM. He hasn't even logged onto the forum since that post on September 12 (same day he registered), so if we don't hear back in the next few days we may be forced to close this.

Hello,

i am facing same issue here...
Windows 2008 / IIS 7.5, the shop install is stuck on step 3
database communication test run successfully.
next button just fire the ajax spinner, but no error...

Was it resolved, or interested to check my system ?

Issue resolved.

I needed to give write permissions on the website folder to the application pool account
